As part of our tutor criteria our tutors are checked and screened to ensure their suitability for private tutorials. All tutors must have a degree or equivalent qualification in order to be registered with the agency.
All of our tutors regularly teach their core subjects and are familiar with the relevant exam boards within the subject they are teaching.
We conduct a telephone interview with all of our tutors, followed by a face to face meeting, as part of our tutor criteria. If the tutor is successful at this stage, we obtain two reference checks and check their identity documents. For further reassurance we are a registered body with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS, previously the Criminal Records Bureau). The DBS is an agency of the Home Office which vets applications for people who want to work with children and all of our tutors are vetted via DBS.
Our screening process is continuous and once tutors are registered we carry out tutor performance reviews completed by parents to give us further tutor feedback.
